Fellow builders;

The upgrade drawings,6-ZU-4,shows the L angles for the aileron trim servos as being 265 mm long,on the plans dated 25 Jan 2010.As I measure mine,the longest they can be is approx. 220mm.,if you extend them onto the piano hinge flange and past the front of the servo on the 20 mm flange of the skin.Or,185mm. if you don't lap the 2 surfaces.Has anyone dealt with this yet or asked at Zenith?
I thought I would start out with a simple task to start(instead of the spars)but wouldn't you know it...?

Thank You,

MIke

Hey Mike,

I did that to Jim's aileron and followed the guidance given in Section 6-ZU-4, Page 5 of 23.

I can take a closer look but I think the L-angles are cut to fit whatever dimension "Cut two L Angles to fit in the Aileron."

Let me know,

I let the ends of the L angle go under the skin and trim tab piano hinge on both ends of the L angle. Since the skin was only 0.016" , I wanted some extra stiffness at the end of the L angle. It ended up looking like this. The angle is bent out a little so the edge won't catch on the servo wire when it is fit together.
