Gary,
I got talked out of changing my gear around because it would move the brakes to the front - no problem - except the wheel pants would not fit. Are you going to relocate your brakes to the aft side? That will that weaken the gear leg at the place where it will have more material removed?? I would still like to do it because my C.G. is really aft with a heavy passenger and low fuel. With a 200 pounder in the right seat i have to land with at least 6 gallons of fuel on board.

Bob
The front nose gear is the weakest point so I favor reducing its work load.
For rough fields it will be nice to be able to land and takeoff on the mains.
It takes too much finese to keep the nosewheel off the ground without reversing it.
My brake calipers look fine on the front side. It will take some patch and paint to replace my wheel pants.
The way that I originally drilled the bolt holes was to preserve the largest edge distance possible but it
required some sculpting of the very end of the gear leg so I can not reverse the brake mounts.
Until warmer weather I will fly it without pants.
