Another solution to strut fairings--If you have a metal brake use the .018
leading edge aluminum from acs which comes in 12 foot rolls. Rip each strip
into 6" strips, about 4 feet long, one for each side of the jury strut.
Bend them into a 40 degree included angle (^) shape and cement them (scuff
aluminum with 80 grit first) to struts at tangent point with epoxy. They
can be covered with cloth or painted. This weighs 4 lbs total for all 4
struts. How much does the Kitfox fairings and the Lowes foam weigh for the
entire 36 feet? Using the wood or foam I would worry about trapped moisture
next to the strut. Comments? PS Aluminum tape wrapped over the front will
secure them if you don't trust the cement.
