Quote: | My question is what can I do besides double heat shrinking lugs
and wires to decrease chance of a mechanical fatigue failure? Or is
double heat shrink with wires secured within 2" adequate?

Single 1" pieces of heat shrink should be fine.
We've never double-covered any similar joint in
a TC aircraft that I'm aware of. What part number
of switch are you using?
