Has anybody had any experience using a Whelen CSP660 or similar strobe power supply (targeted at police/fire vehicles) as a 1/4 price alternative to the $400 aviation A314 strobe power supply?

I was told by a Whelen rep that the non aviation models don't have the proper noise filters in them.
