Pete,

The points 447 has two separate external ignition coils mounted on the side of the engine and also has an ignition damping box mounted onto the pull start assembly housing. The CDI Ducati ignition 447 only has one external ignition coil feeding both plugs.

Be sure to take out both plugs and have someone really spin the engine. The spark on these things is hard to see. Ground it out of the light. Don’t ask how I know. Neutral

We removed the plugs, they were wet with fuel, we grounded them and pulled the engine thru several times and could not see spark. Then we checked the kill switch to make sure is was working, checks out good. I am trying to get info on how to check out the cdi coil. Pete

Use a new set of plugs when you are trying to see if it is firing and do it in a dark area so you really can tell if it is firing the old plugs may have gotten fouled
