I've run into this on a few of my pieces so far and I'm at a bit of a
loss to know what/how to fix it.

Here's the story (I'm building an XL):

I am working on the rear fuselage sides and I got to the diagonal L
between the HT frames. I projected the rivet lines on the top longeron
and up from the HT frame to place the front HT attach bracket.

Part of that is getting a rivet into the diagonal L into the corner of
the bracket.

Having everything aligned and square I lose my edge distance on the
diagonal. If I move the rivet down and back to get the edge distance on
the L I start losing the edge distance on my HT bracket.

Has anyone run into similar issues or am I just thick?

I realize there is a few more millimeters I could pickup in this picture
but much longer and I collide with the top longeron.

Hey Lee, I see that you didn't get a quick response. I would not mess with the edge distance on the HT frame as it is a "more" structural part. Your best bet is to squeeze those extra mms out of a new piece of standard L.

Having said that I have noticed that in a few places in the Zenith photoguide that there are compromised edge distances (on the end of a couple of pieces).

Hope this helps.

James

Make the L-angle longer and form it into the radius to get your edge distance. That hole appears to be right in the tangent of the radius on the HT, so just extend that flange (where its short) on the L-angle and shape it.
