Thats a pretty significant weight saving Tommy, Im impressed and it shows in the performance of the plane.
I was getting pretty discouraged with the polishing process as well but found a neat trick. A fine scotch brite pad in the direction of the grain of the metal and good ol soap and water. Presto, no ucky oxidation residue during the polishing, less time, less polish and great results!
This is the same surface prep method I use for the interior prior to applying zinc chromate.
I know its a bit late for this plane Tommy but it may be of use for your CH750 and other builders brave enough to attempt polishing.
Thanx for the data.
Cheers Vic
