I know we had a discussion a few months ago about shops that offer this and work with the experimental crowd, but now I can't find it in my email browser archives. Was it Twin Lakes that had a good shop? Refresh my memory. I have a transponder intermittent and probably should have a shop troubleshoot it or confirm its integrity before I go within 30 nm of Orlando next week.
I hate electrical gremlins!

I feel your (electronic) pain, but just turn it off for S&F, if that's

where you're heading. IIRC, the notam says to do that, anyway, just like
OSH.

Yes, 8A7 is a good one, in my book. I've only had "scheduled maintenance" done there, but they did a fine job. Other RVers have had more extensive work done there and seem to give them high marks.

Sorry, Charlie - wish I could. We're headed to Kissimmee the week after SnF. Have a 30nm mode C veil to contend with.

Thanks, Larry. This is frustrating as I think it's fixed, but I've had it go from working to inop during a x/c before. Don't trust it till I find out where the glitch is. 99% sure it's a mating antenna fitting in the path from transponder to adapter tray to original tray (Garmin -> Narco). The best fix would be ripping out the old tray, selling the adapter, and mounting the Garmin in its proper tray. But that's too much like work
