Anyone have an older handheld GPS for sale? I’d be interested in a Garmin 196 or Lowrance Airmap 500… Let me know what you have.. cheaper is better… and looking for something smaller.. not interested in Lowrance 1000/2000…

Just found out today that I really need a working backup GPS J

Thanks!
Radomir

Rad:

I have a Lowrance Airmap 100 that I can give you. I actually checked it a few weeks ago and it still works. BUT the rechargeable battery is completely dead, and the AA adapter broken (one of the little metal tabs broke off). The latter is most likely repairable with a little springy wire.

I have a 196 that I've been keeping in my truck, that I would be willing to part with. Still works great, but I'll have to hunt and see if I can find the integrated antenna as I have been keeping it attached to a dashboard puck.

I have a Lowrance 500 which is a great GPS.. perfect size etc.. but just found out yesterday (when I needed it) that a few years of abuse (being stepped on, sat on, etc.. ) took its toll.. and it was having trouble reading the internal SD memory card with the aviation database on it.. So, it was intermittent to show airports.. otherwise, it works great still.. But not so good when you want to punch in Direct to.. and the thing says “no airports found” J

My primary nav is GRT’s MFD, which was sent back for upgrade… and I decided to fly w/o it in the panel..

I bought a Lorance first and returned it because the sunlight in my RV6 made it unreadable.
Now have an Garmin 296 and love it.
