7F8-8 and 7F8-7 join with Seat Front, 7F11-1.  I suspect that intersection

takes a bit of load (in combination with the Cabin Sides Assembly, 7F9).

You might be reducing that strength by a small amount by reducing the

thickness by .016".  I probably wouldn't mess with that.
