G'day everyone on the list,
I am looking for a method to allow a full upgrade to IFR for my yak 18T registered in Australia. I'm in the experimental category, and there hasn't been one upgraded yet to the best of my knowledge. So I'm asking for advice for options. There is a requirement under our legislation for separate power systems for the instruments. That either means 2 alternators/generators with separate systems or electrical plus another system such as vacuum. Has anyone experience with these on the M14p, or in the 18 itself
Cheers Stewart Graham

We have had this problem and got round it with a seccond battery, and the ability to separate the two.
But only gives a limited reserve.
I think George Coy sells a vacuum pump drive.
OR you could look at his electric start systems and take a drive from there?

The original Yak 52TW's were delivered with a vacuum pump drive assembly mounted at the old tach generator mounting point. As Richard says, check with George Coy as he was the original importer and was intimately involved in the development and delivery of the 52TW.
