Hi,
I had some avionics work done. New installation of Blue Mountain G-3
to back up G-4 with backup battery. All worked fine on test ground
run. I flew it for about a half hour and charging of system stopped
and the battery started down. I was near home so I shut everything
possible down and landed. I put a charger on the battery to start it
to fly back to the avionics shop. It would not charge. Winter and much
snow set in and it stayed in the hangar until NE Ohio spring. I did
the Inspection, put in a new battery and flew to get current. It was
fine for a half hour and then the low voltage problem recurred. It
goes to to the avionics shop tomorrow if this battery will charge from
my external charger.
It seems to me something is being affected by heat. Possibly caused by
a short, loose wire, discontinuous wire, bad ground, etc. Any ideas.

Hi George,
I think you were on the right track. Sounds like the problem may not be in
the avionics but in the battery(s) connections or charging system. Simple
stuff first... loose alternator belt or pully...... Make sure all the cable
ends and all "ground paths" are connected securely.... Solenoid over
heating (wrong application) and dropping out, etc.
