Hi Kolbers,

I read the list here in France with a big interest!
I am very pleased to show you my second fly with my 20 years old Kolb Ultrastar (Pulsar in France).

It was a great fun. This ultralight is very easy and funny, it give a lot of pleasure for low cost!!

Hi Jean,

Homer had a deal with Zodiac (the soft boat company) in the early 80s. They appreciated the folding feature which parallels their de-flatable boats for easy storage, shipping, &c. One of Homer's original reasons to design folding planes was that he saw boating take-off when outboards came along, because allowed the user to trailer home and store for little or no money.

Might your plane have been made by Zodiac?

Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Zodiac sell the Kolb licence to Micro-Aviation in 1988. Micro-Aviation build the Pulsar I, Pulsar II and Pulsar III.

My Pulsar (Ultrastar) is build from a kit from Micro-Aviation. Put a folding plane on a trailer is a very good idea, I have no budget to rent a position in a airport hangar!

Cheers,
Jean

Hi Jean,

Is the engine a 503?

I couldn't find the Pulsar I on-line but the Micro-Aviation Pulsar III looks like a nose dragger TwinStar.

The UltraStar is an awesome design. With the wide placed engine shock mounts it has very low frame vibration. Visibility and comfort - fantastic.

Do you know is Micro-Aviation still selling the Pulsar I? Do you fly or know of any other UltraStar/Pulsars?

Happy flying,
Dave
