Kitfoxers, My model 3 has a Maule tailwheel bracket with the ACS Home Builders small tailwheel. I have the 12" wide Tundra tires on the main gear. Has anybody got a suggestion on a larger tailwheel to compliment the big main gear tires?

I've heard guys having good luck with the Matco tail wheels. The 7" pneumatic Matco is larger and lighter than the 6" Maul while not being so tall as to ruin your AOA on the gear. The 8" Matco is a little heavier and much taller, but this may not be an issue for you...

Thanks for the Matco referral. Taller is better for my aplication. I have 4" taller bush gear with tall tundra tires. My AOA is already excessive. Heavier is no problem either.

hmmm is there such a thing? I have the taller gear and 24" tires, going to 26" tires and still want more AOA. I can drag it in and touch the tail wheel with the mains still a couple feet in the air. This makes for short landings, but takeoffs could be much quicker with a higher AOA.

Len, My experience is drasticly limited as a new pilot. I think your right about AOA. Just as long as you are prepared and don't get airborne before your ready on take off, I guess there is no such thing as excessive AOA..
