Hi all,
Just in case anyone is interested, Rotax is apparently coming out with a short block option for the 912 series. I heard about it on Roy Beisswinger's radio show at
http://www.psfradio.com/
In particular, the segment with Mike Stratman of CPS is where he talks about this.
It sounds like this means Rotax is breaking with tradition, at least with the 912 series - it'll no longer be a throwaway engine at overhaul time with this option. Everything from jugs inward will be available new and the heads/accessories will be the only things needing to be overhauled. Basically, a fresh engine for around 50 to 60% of new cost, is the idea.
Very nice if it pans out!
