Hello

I have a KF 3 but I dont like the open bottom with this kind of landing gear.

I have seen a picture from a kf with a landing gear wich has his springs like a Pipercub
Does anyone have plans or something so that I can rebuild mine?

Thank You

Eric (NL)

There are several designs for this out on the market, now.

Airdale, Highwing LLC and Kitfox itself has kits on the market for this conversion.

The landing gear you are referring to is the "bush gear".If you go to highwing llc.com you will see a picture of my "bush gear" I bought this from Lowell Fixx and it was a bolt on installation. Everything fit perfectly. You use your old wheels, brakes and axles.
I have flown with this gear for over 50 hrs now. It is a vast improvement over the old gear. Better ground handling, No bungees, gear spread increases by almost 3 ft,no weight increase....it doesn't get any better. I even sold my old gear on EBAY so recovered a major portion of the purchase price.
John McBean at Kitfox also offers this style of gear (albeit using different wheels,brakes,axles..last time I checked)
You also have the option of the tough heavier all aluminum spring gear from Grove.

Eric, Lowell Fitt , High Wing LLC also builds a sprung bush gear with or w/o metal fairings. I have it, and recommend it.

The axles, wheels and brakes can be the same.. However, we also offer the larger axle size if one wants to go to tires like the 26 or 29” Alaskan Bush Tires.

So basically we offer all 4 gear systems, Bungee, Grove-Aluminum, Bush Gear with ¾ axles (your existing ones or new) and 1.25” axles for those already using a different wheel and brake system or wanting to go to the Much larger tires.

Thank you all

Are there drawings or plans available so that I can make them myself
we here in Europe have to buy all that parts in the USA and that costs a lot of shipping.

I doubt that any of these manufacturers will want to part with all the engineering time and expense that selling plans would entail.
Look at the Aerotrek / EuroFox as an example why...

Hello Lowell
I would be very pleased with some pictures from how You connect the cross tube under the fuselage to the landing gear connectionpoints and how You connect the suspension to the landing gear.
How thick are the templates You used.
I don't want to make the gear wider,I only want to make it possible to disconnect the suspension so that I can lay the plane flat on his belly to make it lower on the trailer.

(ps I don't have access to Your mail address)
