Terry,
I believe the starter solenoid on the CJ-6 is the same as the YAK-50.
There are two types, one without the external actuator lever and one
with. The guts inside are the same on both. They are not adjustable.
However, you can take them apart and clean them and usually get a little
more life from the things. I did that and managed to get another two
years out of one, but eventually had to replace it.
You can take the guts out of one without the external lever and put them
into one WITH the external lever if you want to.
