Listers –
I have a friend’s RV-4 apart for the annual Condition Inspection. It has a Lyc O-360-A3A adapted with up-draft Airflow Performance injector servo and what I believe is a Vetterman cross-over exhaust.
The exhaust hangers are broken in several places – have been for some time. I’d appreciate some photos or words describing exhaust hangers that seem to work well on the -4 and withstand the punishment…

Four pipe Vetterman system RV 4 - 870 hours to date - rubber connectors are rubber heater hose sections - note on both sides of the hangar. Make sure there is NO tension or load on the hangars when you support them.

I used something similar but used exhaust hangars from Summit Racing for my RV4 and my other planes. Take a look all kinds of different styles.

Neal,
I experienced this with my RV8 8 plus years ago when I flew off the initial flight testing. I tried several things that did not work. I then went to the local hardware store and purchased some 2
compression springs approx. 2 inches long wound from approx. 100 thousands wire and approximately 3/4 inch diameter. I made band type loop hangers to connect springs to the exhaust pipe and the engine mount legs. The springs absorb the shock from landings etc. ( I fly from a grass field (bummpy). I now have 9 years and 1900 hours on this set up. Good Luck.
