was recently flying our 52 and the flap actuator jammed in the up position.Returned to the airport and removed the actuator, disassembled the item and found both of the shuttle valves had disintegrated.has anybody seen this before ,is it from contamination and is the same type of shuttle valves in the undercarriage actuators?.
regards steve

Yes Steve, the shuttle valves are the same on the undercarriage actuators. You said "disintegrated". Are you speaking of the hard, rubber ball inside the shuttle valve or something else? I personally have never seen the hard, rubber ball inside a shuttle valve disintegrated. But I have not disassembled as many shuttle valves as Jill has either.
