I am looking at a 912 with history of a prop strike.
I understand the non-slipper clutch gear box tear down and check is in order.
Has anyone had crank shaft or other problems after prop strike on a 912(with a wood prop, don't know if engine was at idle or developing power.)

Sounds like a tear down and runout limits check without more history and observation. crank definitely must be checked

It is my understanding that a tear-down is not necessarily required but the run-out should be checked by either Lockwood, LEAF or CPS.

The gearbox must be completely dismantled and inspected and at least a run out done on the crank after the gearbox is off. There is a specific procedure. It does not need to be done by a Service center, but at least a knowledgeable mechanic with Rotax school behind him.
