My RV-4. In the effort to cure the, recently started, bouncing ammeter guage I have had the Nippon Denso 30 amp alternator rebuilt, installed a new VR-166 regulator, checked and cleaned the battery ground but a few minutes after start up the ammeter needle still bounces 0-18 amps every 1 to 2 seconds. I switch on radios, transponder, landing light, navigation lights and strobes. The amp needle steadies for a minute or two then starts bouncing again. Is this OK because it says regulator is working.
