My suggestion for tailfeather ribs is one-eighth inch plywood, even Luan

will do.  Use stiffeners, or even better glue an 3/8 inch wide capstrip to

the perimeter.  That will serve as a stiffener and makes a nicer looking

cover job.  Best material for capstrip is 3mm plywood available from ACS or

hobby shops.
