The little tabs are welded to the back side of the existing tube. I put the tow bar in place on the nose wheel and marked how much was left protruding so I could tell where to attach the tabs.
I used a little longer screw and a large area washer to capture the bungee. The bungee end is just bent in a tight circle for the bolt to go through. Then I shortened the bungee a couple inches so it holds the stick securely.

Thanks for the input.
Dave, is the only modification to the tow bar welding a tip that fits between the brake pedal and the rudder bar?
