Frans,

I am in a hurry just now but will revert to the Norwegian customs issue
tomorrow morning. If you arrive from a Schengen country (e.g. Denmark or
Sweden) I do not think there will be a problem provided you inform Norwegian
customs about your flight plan in advance, but let me double-check tomorrow.
Regards,
Svein (living in Norway)

I just found this in some other information package as well. Trouble is
that the Norwegian AIP says otherwise (or I have misinterpreted it). But
Norway, it isn't a Schengen country, is it?

Hey, I thought you are Swedish. Your airplane, doesn't it have a Swedish
call sign, or do I confuse you with someone else?

Thanks,
Frans

Frans,

I live in Oslo (Kjeller - ENKJ - is my airplane's base) but spend the summer
either in France (on my way there tomorrow morning, this time by commercial
flight) or close to Jarlsberg aerodrome (ENJB) some 100 km south of Oslo.
Neither airport permits camping, and neither have a camp site close by.

When do you expect to fly up here ? I'll be on a trip to Normandie with my
airplane the first week of July.

Svein

When the weather permits. The weather for the end of the week looks
promising... so we might go there quite soon, within a few days
actually. We will just see what we can manage weather- and planning wise.
At the moment it looks like the first stop in Norway is in Lunde. From
there we might go up North, Geilo, Fagerness, and the Fjords. We
certainly would love to follow the entire coast line to the Northcape,
but we will leave that for another trip. This trip is intended to be a
try out, to gain some experience, with our airplane, camping gear, and
of course flying the Nordic countries.

You must be passing the Netherlands then... but compared to Norway and
France it is probably not worth doing much more here than just
refuelling. At EHMZ they have mogas, from there you can easily reach
Normandie, so it is a perfect place to refuel before crossing the
Belgium airspace.
