Is the Russian one basically the same as the Chinese one in the CJ?
My friend's CJ has a "lazy" attitude indicator in the front... gets confused by acro very easily. What's the fix for that?

Jon,It could be one of two things. It's not getting enough power (inverter going TU) or it's bearings are shot or needing lube. Most likely it's the bearings, after 20 to 30+ years they are needing attention I'm sure. I have one CJ A/H new in the sealed can in stock if needed. Also have 3 of the earlier units which fit Yak 18, 18A, also new sealed in the original tin cans.
Best,
Doug

Try the FAA TSO'd RC Allen. After hard acro they will sometimes lose themselves but they re-erect automatically and are certified. They require no pitot static inputs like the Dynon units and are thus not susceptible to erroneous indications if a pitot or static is in error. One of our team lost input to his unit at bad point in the flight and was down to a turn coordinator. That sucks in a yak!

I agree with Doc...unless you are a purist it's hardly worth replacing the original, especially with the ridiculously low price of a dynon. Plus, IMO, getting rid of that down is up, up is down blue is brown bassackwards gyro is worth it.
