Thank you Fred. The McMaster carr seals look like the way to go. We too threw away the Van's seals right from the start. Ended up buying 25 feet of seal for about 200.00 and glued it too the fabric covering the doors. Bad move...that too had to be removed as the doors would'nt quite close properly. The doors are on the plane and fit pretty well...but with no seal yet! I hope we can retro fit the seals as you did. I'm sure we will end up having to remove most of the gutter also. We actually fit and mounted the doors about 5 months ago. But after the seal issue, decided to move on and hope to find a decent seal eventually.
The build is coming along well otherwise. Glass is in, interior is in (Abby did a great job by the way...FLI ), engine and exhaust are on and we have most of the instruments wired. Hoping to fly her to Sun-N-fun next spring...
And hoping the trip is'nt too noisy
Thank you for the links and the info...I may call on you again if I may.

Walt;
I copied the note from yesterday regarding the door fit. The write up contained is probably the best I've seen so far. I made several mistakes before I finally went with the McMaster seals. I don't know where you are in the build, but throw away the Van's ones. I also had a set from another vendor that stuck on , they didn't work well either. Ended up going back and retro fitting the McMaster seals. Best ones yet. Make sure you have them when you go to fit the door. You basically have to remove most of the gutter and I had to drop my top lip by about 1/4 inch to get everything to fit. It can be done and the later installations have some of the best and slickest work I've seen.
Email/call if you have questions. Do a search on the matronics list.
