Just my shot to wave the flag and proclaim our freedom to fly and even write these blogs this holiday weekend. I will not even try to compare the US to any other country with our freedom to fly and build these amazing flying machines. Nowhere else in the world with the possible exception of the Aussies is there the amazing freedom to fly and build your own plane. We all must fight to defend our flying rights through EAA, AOPA and any other local clubs or groups. The flying fraternity is under attack every day from hypocritical green weenies who want to cut us back on landing rights, fuel usage, or closure/restrictions on airports. Harrison Ford said it best when challenged by a green weenie about his multiple aircraft. He said, "I can only use one at a time and - When you start walking - I'll start walking." Hurrray EAA, Hurray AOPA, Hurrray Mr Ford, Hurrray Vans Aircraft Corp and a big hurrrray America.

I received the following comments from one of our Canadian friends. I stand corrected. - Anyone with a serving of humble pie.......
"I am Canadian and I am extremely proud to live in a country that allows its citizens the EXACT same freedoms as the United States to construct and fly without restriction amateur-built aircraft.
Please be cognizant of your country's largest trading partner, military ally, and staunchest friend to the north. I consider all of my U.S. RV-10 builders/flyers as close friends. People who are considered equal in capabilities and freedoms on this continent we share."

Yes the Kiwis are a great aviation country also...........
My more important point is that we must work together to preserve our freedom to fly (every day) from the pointy pencil green weenies that will take our freedoms from us. Just last month the weenies at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency tried to impose draconian restrictions on seaplane operations at Lake Tahoe. Only through the efforts a small group of Northern Calif. and Nevada airmen was the initiative quashed.

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting some new friends from Bosnia. We
invited them to a 4th of July hanger party for food and to watch fireworks
from the nearby fair grounds. They were amazed at the number of people who
owned and flew there own aircraft, and the pride we take in them. They told
me they knew of no one in Bosnia who owned and flew there own single engine
plane.
Let's keep our freedom. The more laws we have the less free we are.
November.
