Been watching the radar as was wondering if we were getting any rain in Northern Mitchigan, managed a day out flying adding another 4 airfields to my logbook though. Makinac Island is a strange place, a real touristy place with overpriced everything, floods of toursits off every ferry, however peace and tranquility as soon as you get out of town. The airfield is fantastic but that's speaking as a Brit as most of the US airfields are a world apart from what I'm used to. 1/2 walk from town. They have a Fort though, built by the British!
From the Radar OSH looks to have had a bucket full of rain and some, just stopped now after several hours. Hopefully Buz's head is still above water! Heard a few planes on the radio heading that way diverting to delay their trips. Last night two Challenger UL Amphibians came into St Ignace for fuel on their way to OSH. The guys were from Canada and crusing at 60 mph, there's dedication for you. They won't be there yet though, mainly cause of the rain.
Just trying to figure where to head for tomorrow so I can get back to Appleton Saturday avoiding the weather both days......
Regards, Clive
