Friday morning, 23 July, 3 days until AirVenture 2010, the Worlds largest boat show.

Unfortunately, it started raining about 30 minutes ago, so that isn't going to help the aircraft parking situation. The major flooding we had yesterday, see photo below, has mostly cleared up, but many mud holes and lots of stuck cars, trucks, trailers and motor homes. Just got back from a down town trip, and the one piece of good news is that parts of the frontage roads that were torn up are now fixed up. Still lots of one lane, muddy parts, but not nearly as bad as a week ago. Progress continues on the AirVenture grounds as far as setting up for the show, but the big concern now is where to park the arriving aircraft. Well, no aircraft arriving at the moment, but it is going to take some major drying before the grass aircraft parking areas are usable. Bummer.

Hope to have better news later,
Buz

Hi Buss,
Waupaca airport is getting more populated then I have ever seen before. Seems to be mostly Piper aircraft. Maybe arriving aircraft are using high ground airports until the grounds dry out.

Hi Rick,
Not to be a stickler for details, but it's Buz (and I spell it with only one Z; the Biblical spelling). And I have heard that what you are suggesting about arriving aircraft stopping at outlying airports is exactly the case. Based on the number of aircraft we have here now (maybe one tenth of a normal year with only two days to go) they must be stopping somewhere else. Unfortunately, we have more rain in the forecast for after midnight tonight. Looking forward to seeing what you have developed for Trick Air since last year.
Buz
PS:  And right now you are probably wondering if there really is a Buz in the Bible. Right?
