Yes, it came out in the AOPA news letter as well as “The Alabama Aviator” website about 3 days ago. It is a bunch of BS! They send out annual request for me to update my aircraft information annually. Maybe I’m more special and bear watching but I suspect we all get those little jaundice yellow cards from the FAA every year. They ask us to update our information if something has changed. Otherwise we should not return them if nothing has changed in the previous year.
I say choke them with their renewal request all at the same time this year. Apparently someone at the FAA has to much free time on their hands. Or, is they simple want to generate more revenue?
Sorry, I could not tell what your freeking FAA chart meant so I just sent it in now. Just to be safe.

This is their phone number for this issue.
May be a good idea to deluge their tails with questions... Although they probably won't even answer.

First I heard of it. And your right it sucks!
Big government getting more into our lives. Whoops - forgot we're not suppose to talk about political things here on the list.

This is a quote from AOPA emails I get
"In order to transition from the current non-expiring aircraft registration to one with a three-year expiration date printed on the certificate, the FAA is requiring all aircraft registered before Oct. 1 to be re-registered. Owners will be given a three-month window to comply, based upon the month of current registration. The FAA proposed a $5 re-registration and renewal fee, but the FAA reauthorization bill if enacted as passed by the House authorizes the FAA to increase the initial registration fee to $130 and re-registration and renewals to $45."
