Thanks.
If things go according to plan it will be in a trailer on it's way to Oshkosh in a few hours. I would guess 2 weeks at least before the first flight.

Thanks to all that have responded favorably both here on the list and at Oshkosh. The plane spent the last 4 days surrounded by people, most of who were very respectful of other peoples property. Here's a couple more pics of the plane.

If that doesn't help sell kits nothing will.
I noticed the horizontal stab was tilted up a little. Is that an optical illusion?

The horizontal stab is set in the top position because that's where it needs to be to fold the tail feathers. Flight testing will tell us the final story on proper incidence, then we'll probably change the design of that bracket to suit.

Bob, The incidence of the horizontal stabilizer on my Mk IIIC is pretty much the same, just going by eyeball.Scott, That sure is a pretty airplane. The Kolb guys should be proud that they produce a kit that people can build so beautifully. Congratulations and much good flying.

That would be correct for a IIIc. Mine is there too, but an Xtra has lower wing incidence and (so I am told) requires an accommodatingchange in the tailplane.
I redrilled my wing attach ears and bought the adjustable tail brackets and universal joint from Travis(at)Kolb.
I intend to try the lower settings eventually. Other stuff has me sidetracked at the moment.
Besides, for the first year since I built it, I have all the bugs out and want to enjoy a season of just "push it out and fly it"
-truly a luxury.
