Any recommendations where to buy tires for my MarkIIIC? The tires on
there now are marked "15/600-6 tubeless". Is it important I keep
tubeless ones?

BTW, thanks for the input on the cracked oil reservoir cap. I'm being
very careful with #3! The folks at Leading Edge Air Foils are trying
to see if they can cover it under warranty.

Thanks!
Dawn

Dawn/Folks:

I use tubes in my tubeless tires. Far less trouble with slow leaks.

Why not look around the house and other places for a cap that will fit your
oil reservoir. Bet there is one somewhere that will fit the bill.

Hi, Dawn –

If you are interested in installing a set of “Kolbra tires” (that’s what the folks at the New Kolb company calls ‘em) on your Mark-III, I have a slightly used pair for sale. They are size 8.00x6 and fit on the standard six-inch Kolb rims. These are the fat tires you often see on many light sport airplanes – the Zenith CH-701 uses them exclusively. The set I have includes inner tubes.

I had these on my Kolb for about a year, but took them off last summer. All my landings are on paved runways, and it was a waste to have these balloon-y tires if I never get to land on grass strips. (very sad) Made about a 4 mph difference in cruise speeds with these, compared to the 6.00x6 tires I am using now. They probably have about 20 to 30 landings on them. They are still in excellent shape.

I bought these tires from New Kolb for about $45 each. Am willing to let them go for $50 for the pair (including tubes). Lemme know if you are interested …

Dennis, If Dawn doesn't want them I do. Dawn, you have right of first
refusal. Is that okay with you Dennis?
