RV7:
Reading online threads it looks like the advice is to:
(Areas where top & bottom skins overlap at longeron): Machine
countersink through the lower skin and into the longeron to accept a
dimple made in the top skin
Question:
(Areas where lower skin has no overlapping top skin):
Should I dimple the lower skin and full countersink the longeron to
accept the dimple?
OR:
Should I machine countersink the lower skin and longeron (1 step).
(Leaves undesireable thin sidewall bearing area on skin)

I agree, but the question here is perhaps a bit different:
You can't dimple the longeron so:
Dimpling the lower of two overlapping skins will require machine
countersinking the longeron to accept the intermediate skin dimple.
Would it be better to lose the metal from a machine coutersink in the
intermediate skin and only a hairs width from the longeron?
In either case, I WILL always be dimpling the top (outer) skin.
So:, I plan to machine countersink the longerons only for the keeper
rivets in the rear, and along the canopy areas where there is no
overlapping top skin.
Is this right?
