As an alternative to electric actuators, maybe air actuators will work. I
am installing air cylinders in my muktuk design floats, which were built by
Kasper Naef. Bembo actuators are inexpensive and lighter than electric, and
they provide spring action for the wheels. You only need a small air tank
and a 12 v. compressor or air up on the ground good for numerous cycles.
Bembo can provide any stroke, any force needed, single or double action.
Check the Bembo website.
