I had a lot of trouble with my Terra radio display, especially when the humidity was high (caused various segments to be missing or flicker)  It would clear up when the radio warmed up.  I fixed it by spraying the board around the display liberally with Corrosion X.  Been working for 12 years after that.  Give it a try if your symptoms sound similar.

Gulf Coast Avionics offered to fix it (for about the same price as a new radio).

Try the shop that now owns all of the Terra "stuff";
http://www.terraavionics.com/

Good folks to deal with and they have lots and lots of OEM support for them.

Cheers,
