You've got quite a few years of experience with the 65 HP Rotax. I know the above comment was in reference to the 532----how much do you trust the newer versions of the 582?

It is trustworthy enough. Airplane engines can always be made better, but it is acceptable. If I had bought a 912 years ago, I might be happier, or more confident, but considering the number of hours I fly each year, I wouldn't upgrade now because I won't live long enough to amortize the difference and there are other things I would rather spend the money on.
