I've about got my RV-8 ready for final assembly and the insurance companies are asking of several hours of dual "in type". I don't think there is anyone giving dual in a RV-8 . . . but maybe a 6 or 7 w/ constant speed prop will do?
Does anyone know of someone offering RV transition training in the mid-west? or is Alex in Texas the closest?
Thanks,

You might be able to get Bill Gill in Lee’s Summit MO to do some dual with you. Bill has a RV-7. Contact information available on request.

Bob,
I would highly recommend Mike Seager in Vernonia Oregon. I flew with Mike in the Spring of 2010, the week just before I test flew my RV-8. The experience was excellent; Easily the best time and money I've spent on the RV-8 project bar none.

My insurance company accepted dual in the RV-7 for my required dual "in type". I went to oregon and flew with Mike Seager which was amazing. His RV-7 has a FP prop though, and even though my 8 has CS, that wasn't a big deal for me. We actually flew a bit in a CS RV-6A to get familiar with the prop (and it was fun to fly a nosedragger RV!) and the biggest difference is that you can slow down more quickly, but that was about it. I know you're looking for mid-west, but if you find yourself in Oregon, you won't find better training. Heck of a nice guy as well.
