I am intending to modify my 701 to dual sticks shortly based on the 601 dual stick option. Apart from some dimensional and proportional differences I see no big problems. I would appreciate any input. In particular, DIRK from Piketberg recently wrote...Way to go Chris! this is what its all about!
I've done a dual stick mod on mine, if you're interested.....

I hate yhat "Y" stick.......Geoff

You might be interested in the way I designed my dual sticks. It's a total
retro-fit that allows you to put back the "Y" stick with little effort. See
it at http://www.skyhawg.com/sticks.html, or any questions, let me know.

Update, finally got my prop back from Warp Drive. Took almost a month.
Seems like painting the tips really got them out of balance. They
re-balanced them at no-charge. Got'm back on and starting my ground time
to tweak the prop. It's time to send in the paper work to the FAA for my
inspection.

Geoff, I flew the HD, HDS and XL with center stick. When I built my XL I
installed the duel stick and it is a joy when compared. The ability to change
hands and freedom in the cockpit have some real safety benefits (imagine trying to
get to your fire extinguisher while flying left handed) and the feel of
"yanking and banking" with the stick at your knees is a true pleasure. FWIW, Bill

Geoff, perhaps I can help, save you some time and effort!
The 601 dual stick option is not a retrofit to the 701, there are a number
of changes, not rocket science, but time consuming.
Contact me off list, I can send you some pics.

Is there some reason, that you can't share your modifications
for everyone. Ie. putting those pictures to some free home

for everyone, especially, when we are not talking about

I "fight" against this kind of behavior in finland time to time.

Jari,

Since this is a problem for you, perhaps you would solve it for us
all by setting up, maintaining, and paying for a zenith picture and mod
website.
If you did that, we could post any pictures and mods any time we needed to.

Thanks for volunteering to solve the problem.

I didn't notice that anyone was trying to not share, the lister volunteered
to send info to a fellow lister. If you were polite, I'm sure he would send
the information to you too.

I thought it was nice that the information was offered to a fellow lister.

Allen.

Hey Tari. Slow down a little there. I was taken aback by your post. That's the first time I've seen such an angry outburst on this site.
I have never tried and do not know how to post pics up here yet. (I guess I need to get to that). Also, I do not have a Website to share my building experiences with you guys. Now THAT I am looking into. My reason? It's because of all the help I've been getting. I want to give back. Maybe DIRK is in the same boat as me and thats why he asked me to contact him offline. You and the whole world are most welcome to any information I get.
OLD FARTS? SECRETS? Ease up Jari
Again, Dirk my email to you did not get through to you. Please email me at Stol10(at)comcast.net Thanks

Allen, Jari need not do what Jon, David and Myself have already done.
www.ch601.org www.ch701.com are websites for all builders to share. If
someone has something to share to the group they send it to me and I add
it to the site. Jari's tone was a bit off from his usual postings but I
will just add that to a frustrating day he had and he may have just
vented in the wrong direction instead of suggesting to send the
modification to www.ch701.com for everyone to share. I volunteered to do
these websites quite some time ago, now I need you to send me stuff to
post. I can only build so many planes and my creativity is less now then
it used to be.

Bill,
I've flown both and find the Yoke is a serious advantage for getting in
and out, both passenger and pilot.
The dual stick provides a problem when you have to stick your head down
near the header valve or the brake pedals
to fill the reservoir. I can't see any great reason to reinvent the
standard stick for each seat. Cost is not at issue,
but simplicity is hard to duplicate, especially when it is functional.

Bill-
I have over 400 hours of flying dual stick arrangements, with both left and
right
hand throttle arrangements. On my 601xl I opted for the center stick due to
ease of entry and egress. I've watched a number of passengers really
struggle in
trying to position themselves around a stick.
From the pilot's perspective, you can get use to any arrangement with a
little
practice.

I'm very happy with the Y stick in N601RT. I find it very natural to fly with. It is easy to fly with "cross handed" if needed. I believe it would be safer in a crash than having something extra between your legs. I also agree that it makes getting in and out of the plane easier.

Note that I am no longer using royt.or at netzero dot com My new email is N601RT at comcast dot net

Having flown yokes and a stick ( tandem ) I have to say I prefer the stick
during flight. Entry/egress is just a little trickier, but you gain so much
room from a stick.

The first time I ever flew in the right seat as a passenger I was amazed at
how hard it was to avoid the yoke when the pilot pulled back.

So, do the passenger's prefer single or dual? On entry it seems more
