If your display and video display card can handle 1280 X1024
pixels..then resizing is not needed... Visit the control panel
and click on display and go to the settings tab and check what
settings are available to you...
If upgrading to a flat screen monitor...spend the little extra to
get this sort of resolution...Actually some of the small flat screen
tv's with 1080 i will work well as a dual function monitor.. Herb

Quite so. But if the picture fits the monitor properly, then what is written
will also fit the screen without having to slide the scroll bar at the
bottom of the screen back and forth to be able to read the copy. Which
typically runs way off the side of the screen when the picture is too big.

Using a Sapphire Radeon gaming card hooked to an HP 20" wide active matrix LCD display at 1600X900 resolution and quite satisfied with it. (I can play World of Tanks at medium settings!)
If it gets to the point where I have to resize the screen to read posts, or download and reopen a picture to be able to view it, it gets a lot easier to just skip reading those posts.
When I make a post, I resize the picture so that everyone can read it without jumping through hoops, because it's not that hard - consequently I assume that everyone else can do it too.
I'm weird that way... But hey - Merry Christmas and thanks for thinking of me!
