I'm trying to find out the the proper gap is between the magnetic pickup
in the distributor the the rotor that triggers it on a Stratus Subaru,
0.020 won't work and 0.011 will, but what is the spec on this?

Tim,
The factory gap setting is .008 to .016. A smaller gap will result in a
spark at a lower rpm than with the larger gap.
Play in the distributor shaft should not be allowed to take the gap out
of the tolerance range.
Taken from the instruction manual by Paul Messenger.
