For those who are awaiting availability of the 9024,
4-function control module, I've published a footprint
sketch and product photo at:
http://www.aeroelectric.com/Catalog/AEC/9024/
Originally, we considered a heat-shrink encapsulated assembly
with pendant wires. After much pondering of the processes
and cost of manufacturing/ownership issues, we've decided
to build the little guy up in a d-sub back shell. The builder
will have the option of making their own mounting bracket
and acquiring the mating connector locally . . . either
crimp or solder.
We'll be offering pre-punched, extruded brackets and crimp
connector mounting kits as a separate option for those who
would rather buy than make. The 9, 15, 25, and 37-pin
mounting kits will become attach hardware for a constellation of
products. Once the mounting kits are in inventory, the
current instrument panel ground bus kit will be revised
to use the same bracket thus eliminating the present
etched circuit board. I'm finally going to get some really
good use from that set of d-sub punches I lusted after for
more than 30 years before finally acquiring a set about 7
years ago!
Dr. Dee and I are going to St. Pete Beach next week.
Dee is going to hob-nob with associates from around
the country while 'lectric Bob is going to get some
writing done . . . which will include the final revisions
to the 9024 software description document and the
companion installation manual.
Progress IS being made . . .
Happy new year folks!
