All,
Fantastic news; the Lightning Newsletter will definitely continue. I am extremely pleased to be able to announce that we now have someone to take over the Lightning Newsletter. John Jenkins, from Wisconsin, had volunteered to "take the stick" and will begin producing the newsletter with the February 2011 issue.
Not only is John an enthusiastic volunteer, he is also exceptionally qualified to do so in that he has previously built and is now flying an Esqual, and he is also currently building a Lightning. How's that for being qualified? Additionally, John is a published author, having written several books (at least one of them on aviation), so we are extremely lucky to have someone with his background and experience to become the second ever "commander in chief" of the Lightning newsletter.
So this email serves as the Official Change of Command of the Lightning "Hangar Talk" Newsletter; Buz Rich passes the stick to John Jenkins. I'm sure John will introduce himself to the Lightning community in the February issue, but as a reminder to all of the newsletter readers, you still have a very important job to do to help keep the newsletter informative and interesting. Please, continue to submit material to John for publication.
I plan to stay very involved with the Lightning and my great friends in Tennessee and, as time allows, will also continue to provide information, articles, and photos to John for consideration for publication.
John's email address is john.jenkins(at)chorus.net (john.jenkins(at)chorus.net)
Blue Skies and Thanks John,
Buz

John and Buz,
Let me be the first to congratulate John and thank him for undertaking this newsletter endeavor. I know that much effort is required to do so, and I, for one, will try to contribute whatever hints and kinks and commentary that I can come up with during my build to share with other builders.
And to Buz, I want to personally thank you for your hard work in keeping us abreast and entertained with your newsletter publications for all this time. You deserve a break. Well done!
Regards,
