Kingsley & Lance,
I hope you didn't get washed away by the floods. Are you OK. Any news?

Not sure about them, but Brisbane is going to flood tonight and tomorrow, the dams are all at about 180% capacity
So they have to do a big dump of water today ( the extra 90% was for flood mitigation built in after the 1974 floods)

Arrived home on Thursday night after being stranded in Kingaroy for a week.
The lagoon in our yard had been up about 2 metres above the normal high and gone back down by the time we arrived home.
Still a long way below the level of our house and shed.
Was unsubscribed from the forum by the Matronics weasil after mailbox overflowed with Xmas photos on 30th December so am now catching up via the digest.

glad to hear you're OK. That's groups of three friends in the area all OK so good news.
Interesting that this is a regular occurrence in Queensland, every 30/40 years or so? Some sort of planetary/solar cycle perhaps. We heard that the worst one was 1895.
Here in UK we get sudden catastrophic floods too but sopmetimes it's due to unwise town planning, allowing building on flood planes, too much concrete/tarmac which prevents the ground soaking up the water, modern farming changes too.
Planet's getting too crowded I guess, certainly it is here in UK.
regards
Graham

Aust is very big. Many parts are not affected – like us on the far south coast of NSW.

Same here Bob, the trick is "never buy a house on a flood plane" the last one may have been 50 years ago but that means the next one is nearer being due!
Happy new year and hope you are on the mend and your PC is under control {
