Crankcase breather vent fitting

Fellow builders,

I bought the FF705 and CV9816 breather parts from Vans for venting my Aerosport built O360.

Come to find out that the vent fitting on my engine is 5/8" instead of the 3/4" one that the CV9816 is called for.
The good news is that the vent fitting on my engine is a 45 degree fitting already pointed aft - so I don't want to change it out.

Anyone out there using the 45 degree 5/8" fitting? How did you build up the hoses? Does it work OK?
