Ben,

Removed one strut at a time and slid over it. I used the smaller fairing and it was a snug fit. Drilled thru it at the intersecting brace and bolted through it. That is all that I have to hold it in place. Has been fine for 3 yrs now.

Hey Bob. Did the slit the back of the fairing and wrap it over the strut or take one end of the strut off and slide the fairing on ? How did you address the jury strut intersection?

Ben,
I used them on my 701 and they definitely drop the drag of the struts. Easy to install, I highly recommend them.

I haven't tried either of them.

I second that... Thanks for sharing the link... I have always wanted to streamline my struts but didn't think it had a big effect.... A fellow 801 builder told me he covered his and picked up a little speed but..... The Zenith thin metal strut covers were so fragile he could not push the plane around by pushing on the struts without bending them. I did find some poly/PVC covers that looked like it was more durable but after several emails to them and no response I concluded that company must have gone belly up.... Anyone have another source? For everyday use i would probably leave them off. But on a 13 hour trek to OSH I bet they would pay for themselves real quick.......

A friend passed this along to me after seeing my project.

Of course strut covers were already on my punch list. Wink
