 I personally take offence at the off-handed remark.  I once was a  new pilot, have trained hundreds a CFI since '62 and I made no comments  other than to agree with Bob, whom all respect or they wouldn't be on the  list.   Perhaps after you have made as many mistakes as I did  early in my career you will realize there are very few old, bold pilots and  enjoy your flying as much as I have the last 49 years. There have been very  few regulations made without blood being shed.
