Sam,
The archives suggest that with a 70 inch prop you’d need to add a 2 inch spacer on the front strut to get adequate clearance.
The least amount of clearance would be near 8 inches for the tri-gear version. I fly a 70 inch warp drive on my 601HDS.
That Subaru is going to be heavy for the 701 and you might want to seriously consider the cooling at slower speeds.
I’ve a friend that has the EA81 with Warp Drive on his 701 and his goes very well. See Carl Ritter at carlritter(at)frontiernet.net (carlritter(at)frontiernet.net).

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I would like to know what length prop is being used on the 701. I have an ea81 Subaru with Stratus 2000 redrive, and 44.25 in. from prop center to ground. I'm leaning towards a Powerfin prop because of the light weight (10#). A 68" prop would leave 10" to the ground.
