Best I can deduce from all the posts on Ellary's prop failure is that Warp Drive changed their design sometime during the 90's by moving to a solid carbon prop, after they became aware that their earlier models were breaking in the field. I guess if I was WD I would publish a SB telling people to trade in their old blades for a new discounted ones, and to not fly their foam core models till the old blades have been replaced.
It will be a win win for everybody on that score.

So far all the pictures you have posted both here and on FB look just like the Warp I had and broke in 1990, both inside and outside.

And I don't care who says what, or what your credentials are, I broke several of them, and back then they did have a blondish-tan foam core.

Richard, group,

I'm not here to bash Warp Drive props.  For all I know, they are the best props in the world.
However, about 3 1/2 years ago, I shared a story with this list about my ultralight flight
instructor who lost a blade of his Warp Drive prop.
This happened on our way to Arlington Air Show, 1993 or 94.  He had a QS MXII, 582 Rotax, WD prop.
While crossing the mountains from east Washington state to the west, the prop lost a blade.
Fortunately, there is a grass runway at the summit for this very purpose, and he was able to glide to it.
Another student and I were in his truck, pulling the enclosed trailer, and we were able to remove
the wings and two the plane to Arlington.

At the airshow, my instructor (Dan Nixon) spent an enourmous amount of time dealing with the Warp Drive people.
>From his description, the plane shook so bad, he couldn't control it, until he shut the engine down.

This is a fact!!  Like I said, I'm not bashing WD.  I'm quite sure every prop manufacturer in the world
has had props lose blades.  Maybe WD got a few of these defective designed props back, and then went to
the more solid carbon fiber core.  If so, maybe this is a testiment as to why so many people brag
about their present durability.
