McClellan Jet Services required proof of insurance before I could rent a tie-down.
They cannot force you to have insurance, but they aren't required to rent you a spot, either.

They absolutely cannot force you to show them anything of the sort. It's none of their business. Just another attmept at a power grab. So typical in an evironment of regulation and enforcement these days. You don't even have to insure your aircraft if you don't want to

We are required to show proof of insurance in order to rent hanger space (at) KVDI.
